Mental-health activities in social-care institutions
About the book
What's it about?
Beyond family and friendships, maintaining mental health depends greatly on spending free time meaningfully and on regular daily activity, which heightens the sense of being useful. For social-care institutions it is a great challenge — but also an opportunity — to organise activities that improve the quality of life and the sense of well-being of those they serve. This matters all the more in residential social-care institutions. When a person's life is shaped first and foremost by the institution, it is usually the organised programmes that provide residents with meaningful activity and a shared group experience.
We send this publication on its way in the hope that it will give courage, enthusiasm and ideas to every activity initiative that supports mental health.
